Today I am going to share with one of my all time favorite red velvet cake. This cake is so moist and has a rich creamy frosting, you are going to love this recipe. You have to give this a try so lets start.
Red Velvet Cake Ingredients
Cake Batter:
1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp white vinegar
2 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
1-2 tsp red food color
2 + 2/3 cups cake flour
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

Cream Cheese Frosting:
500 g cream cheese (room temperature)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Red Velvet Cake Baking Method:
1. Grease with butter and dust with flour your round cake pan.
2. In a large bowl sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt and whisk to combine.
3. In another bowl mix butter with sugar until combined. Incorporate eggs and beat well.
4. Add oil, vinegar,vanilla essence and buttermilk. Incorporate flour mixture until well combined.
5. Gradually add red food coloring until the desired color is reached. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Preheat oven to 350F (180C). Bake for about 45-50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Let pans cool on a cooling rack for 10 minutes.Remove the cakes from the pan and let them cool completely.
Cream cheese frosting:
1. In a large bowl, add butter and beat for 3 minutes until smooth, then add cream cheese and beat for 5 to 7 minutes until completely smooth.
2. Now gradually add 1+1/4 cup of powdered sugar and beat well until silky and smooth, then add vanilla essence and mix.
For assembling :
1. Cut the cake in half and apply thick layer of cream cheese frosting between two layers.
2. Now cover the cake with remaining frosting and smooth it out then add fresh strawberries and enjoy.
